Happy New Year to everyone who supported us during 2017. Hope you had as good a year as we did, and we are really looking forward to 2018.
It’s traditionally a quiet time for us in January and February, but it is such a great time in the food calendar with plenty of comforting hearty dishes to be had. Game features prominently, with local Roe deer and pheasant very popular at the moment. The pies are also going down well (Local venison & mushroom, steak & kidney) as well as pork belly, wild sea bass and excellent steaks. In the kitchen Bruce is still at the helm alongside Vincent (formerly of Ockenden Manor) and they are both serving up what is surely the best food in the area.
